Tim Young Receives 50 Year Pin at the IAM Convention

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Congratulations, Timothy Young! Tim was celebrated at the 41st IAM Grand Lodge Convention for 50 continuous years of membership and service to our great Union. Our District 9 IAMAW and Bluff City Lodge 660 IAMAW Brother joined the IAM in 1974 during his senior year of high school as part of a career program at Rotary Machine Shop. In 1978, Tim moved to Owen’s Illinois Machine Shop, where he completed his apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Machinist. During his career, Tim served as Shop Chairman, Conductor-Sentinel, Trustee, Vice President, and as President from 2005-until his retirement on December 31, 2020. In 1999, Tim accepted the opportunity to serve as District 9 IAMAW Secretary Treasurer and remained in that position until his aforementioned retirement. Tim’s commitment to our Machinists Union did not end at retirement, as he continues to serve District 9 as Communicator, remains a delegate to District 9, and is proud to say he is still a FULL DUES PAYING MEMBER! Please take a moment to congratulate a true Machinist and hero of Labor, Brother Tim Young!
